About Us
Queens Hall Church belongs to Wigan Methodist Circuit whose purposes are mission, mutual encouragement, support, and the effective deployment of the resources of ministry which include people, property and finance. In the Circuit ordained ministers are stationed and Local Preachers are trained and exercise their calling. We fulfil 'Our Calling' as the Methodist Church through worship, learning and caring, service and evangelism.
Here at Queens Hall our leaders are:
The Revd. Peter Powers is one of our Ministers, and also the Superintendent Minister of the Wigan Circuit. Peter says "I am a drummer, both in worship and in facilitating drum circles in churches, schools and at other events. My forty African drums travel with me. I teach folk to make dough for bread and pizzas and in starting Bread Churches as a means of sharing the Gospel in new places with new people. My portable bread church kit travels with me. I love to DJ. I have all the PA & lighting to do so, and you may well find me doing discos for schools and in various social contexts locally. Most of all I love to worship, and to exalt and lift up on high the name of Jesus."
Deacon Clare Purfit is also one of our Ministers, and serves alongside two other church communities in the Wigan Circuit. Clare grew up in Warlingham Surrey but has lived in Scotland for the last twenty years, before being stationed in Wigan. Clare can be contacted on 01942 244358 or by email at [email protected]
