About Us
Mission has always been at the heart of Queens Hall. As a town centre church, we have people popping in and out every day. A large part of our mission is our Sanctuary Café, which is a fantastic meeting place for people of all ages. We get groups of friends arranging to meet regularly, people who just want a quiet space to read in the warmth and escape from the busy-ness for a short while and people who are lonely and looking for a friendly face and a chat. We have people from our prayer team who come in just to pray and chat with people, and this is a very rewarding side to what we do.
To engage as many people as we can with the Gospel, through our Cafe, Bible studies, prayer group, weekly services, childrens and young peoples' outreach.
We try to meet people where they are at, and our caring and compassion is well known throughout Wigan.
There have been several discipleship initiatives undertaken in the last year. A number of the congregation joined a Living Seed bi-monthly discipleship meeting which is both physical at QH and zoomed to other hubs and people. Regularly the speaker is Brother Gbile Akanni speaking from Nigeria.
Other discipleship initiatives have come from courses and groups:
A summer house-group met fortnightly. People were asked to pick a different subject each session. This was so successful that out of it came Trish Green`s initiative to present an overview of the End Times and a Bible study on Revelation, followed by a study on the book of Genesis.
A Lent course on `Growing Closer to God was run in August September where we read Robin Gambles' book Jesus 100 which was really uplifting
Our new Start Course which begins on 18th January, introduces Christianity through 6 small group sessions. It makes no assumptions about participants background, experience or knowledge of Christianity or the Church. It really does start from scratch.
